On October 30th, 2007 a fisherman found the remains of a little girl in a plastic container on an island in the West Galveston Bay
About a month later on November 25th, the mother and step-father of “Baby Grace” were charged for this horrific crime and later were found guilty. Baby Grace’s real name is Riley Ann Sawyer, she was 2 years old and was murdered by the parents that were supposed to protect and take care of her at all costs.
This horrific murder took place on July 24th, 2007. Riley’s mother and step-father (Kimberly Trenor and Royce Zeigler II) conducted a daylong discipline session designed to teach Riley proper manners. Zeigler came up with this idea because he was upset that Riley wouldn’t listen to adults or say “please” and “thank you”.

An autopsy concluded that Riley’s death was caused by skull fractures. On that day Zeigler threw Riley across their family room several times because the child wasn’t learning to behave better during this discipline session. Riley’s head was smacking into the tile floor when he threw her; which ultimately lead to the skull fractures and her death. Riley’s mother took part in the day of discipline also by dunking her head in cold water and beating her with a belt. At one point during one of her beatings Riley told her mother “I love you”, yet her mother did not feel compelled to even try to stop the horror she was seeing and participating in right before her eyes.
After Riley was killed, Trenor and Zeigler bought a plastic container, stuffed the toddler’s beaten body inside it and stored it in a shed at their home until September 2007, when she and Zeigler drove to Galveston
Does this case and others like it infuriate you? Every case of child abuse is detestable. Those who participate or advocate violence against children are bullies who prey on those that are weaker than them. I can’t even comprehend what that day was like for that precious 2 year child. Their was no one willing to help her in her time of need as she was being thrown around the room and murdered by her parents.
I want to tell you about another baby whose outcome was the same as Riley’s; his death was caused by the actions of his mother. This little boy was also found in a container in Dallas , Texas
“Baby Malachi” was also a victim of child abuse that led to his death as his mother paid someone to kill him. Now you might be saying; “how could a mother pay someone to kill her own baby.” She should be institutionalized right? This hired hand that killed “Baby Malachi” ripped both of his legs off, tore open his body cavity exposing his intestines and then crushed his skull. Now you might be saying “hopefully this hired killer and the mother have been captured and are rotting in jail for the rest of their lives.” Actually that is not the case at all. Neither the mother nor the hired killer were arrested, tried or convicted of these crimes against “Baby Malachi” because the victim never exited his mother’s womb!
I know what you are probably saying now. “I’ve been hood-winked; it’s just another anti-choicer trying to persuade me into believing what they believe.” That is not my intention at all. I want you to see that the result in both of these cases is the death of a child, whether it is the parents beating their child to death or it is the parent taking their child to be killed by an abortionist.
Does this incident infuriate you in the same way the case of “Baby Grace” did? Some will say “yes” while others will try to justify why her case is different than “Baby Malachi’s”. The only difference is time. Riley saw life outside of the womb and lived past the age of two. Malachi died in his mother’s womb at about 21 week’s gestation age; never seeing life outside the womb. You can call Malachi a fetus or an embryo or whatever you want. But the truth is Malachi was an innocent baby who deserves the same protection from predators and child abusers as Riley did. His perpetrators deserve to be punished just as Riley’s were.
As Americans continue to hide behind the veil of “choice” and “reproductive rights” the utter destruction of life in the womb will continue. On that same note if Christians do not begin to stand in the gap for the unborn and hope the problem will just go away through our political realm, our nation will continue to reap what we’ve sow. As our nation continues to shed innocent blood, innocent blood will continue to be shed in our land. We see it every day in the news….Mom cooks baby in microwave, mom be-heads and slices baby up and eats its brains, mom cuts her babies arms off, mom’s boyfriend beats her 2 year old child to death with video game controller, mother of 5 drowns all of her children in bathtub….the list could go on and on. And then to top it off over 3,000 unborn babies are killed at abortion clinics across our land every day just as Baby Malachi was killed. Even our President believes a mother should have the right to kill her unborn baby. Some who stand against abortion even voted for this President stating you can’t base your vote on one issue. What if all of your views lined up perfectly with President Obama’s except one. That one issue that you disagree with him on is he believes that slavery should become legalized. Would you still vote for him? I assume you wouldn’t, so you are now standing against him based on just one issue. The same thinking should be applied with abortion. President Obama believes murdering innocent babies should continue to be legal in America
Protecting one group and not protecting the other is discrimination. Due to the location of the unborn child (in the womb) he is not granted any protection. Once the child takes his first breath he now has the same protection as you and me. An abortionist can kill that child at any stage under the law as long as it never draws its first breath.
Also a child is only deemed worthy if the mother says so. A mother can take herself and her unborn child to an abortion clinic at anytime during her pregnancy to have it aborted. She has classified this child as unwanted and chooses to eliminate it. Another mother is pregnant and wants her baby. In some states if that mother was killed along with her baby in the womb two counts of murder would be the charge. (Lacy/Conner Peterson case) The ultimate power of life and death is given to the mother. The power of life and death is God’s territory! What if a pregnant woman decides she wants to abort her child but the father wants the child? Again the mother’s decision trumps all others. If this father tried to stop the mother from the abortion he would end up in jail. It is so sad that this father who is doing his duty by protecting his child and wife at all costs will end up not only losing his child but also going to jail for doing what is right?
Can you honestly say I support a mother’s choice to have an abortion? If you do then you need to also be saying I support a mother’s choice to cook, slice up, drowned, abuse and to ultimately kill a child, at any stage in life and for any reason. That is what the “choice” of abortion is all about right? No reason is really needed; it could be financial or just bad timing or a slew of other reasons to have the abortion. It’s so easy to sentence to death those that are weak and without a voice isn’t it? Just as America oppressed the rights of slaves and Hitler oppressed the rights of Jews; America
